A week or so ago, I ran across a link pointing to the Media Leaders site. I noticed that they were working on a nationwide event on January 26th, but Raleigh wasn’t included. Los Angeles, Boston, Austin, New York City and San Francisco are big cities, with lots of social media electricity coursing through them, but there’s no doubt that Raleigh needed to be included in that top echelon.
Raleigh has a collection of some of the brightest minds in advertising, social media, new media professionals, online producers, tech entrepreneurs and brands interested in high-tech content integrations and promotional opportunities. Do you fit into any of those categories? If not, do you wish you did?
This is one of those events that can help you start working on building your network. If you think you can reach your full potential by staying home and watching re-runs of What Not To Wear, it’s time for you to start getting out. This is the year to put as much effort into your network and your career as you put into that fantasy football league.
Go look at the list of people already attending the Raleigh Media Leaders event, it’s a who’s who of people who are making Raleigh one of the hottest spots in the United States for new media of all flavors.
When we opened up the event, the first 100 tickets were free, and were also gone in a few hours. The remaining tickets are $12 each, which means that it is within reach of anyone who is serious about networking in this community.
We’re lucky that they Busy Bee Cafe has agreed to host the Raleigh Media Leaders event. They offer a fantastic venue for us to eat, drink and schmooze.
Lastly, we have lined up a nice collection of sponsors that will be offering all sorts of goodies and prizes for the attendees. More on that in the upcoming days.
I’ll be there, will you?
