Serious Link Building

Garrett French is one of the leading experts in the world on link building, and he’s dropping some serious knowledge at this month’s Raleigh SEO meetup. Garrett is one of the founders of Ontolo Link Building Services, which just released version 2 of their flagship product, the Link Building Toolkit.

There are a few reasons I love talking with Garrett. First is he’s wicked smaht. Even times when we’re just having coffee and shooting the breeze, his insights often cause me to reconsider the way I’m approaching a problem. He has the rare ability to see the reality of the situation without all the distractions. Second is that you can ask him just about anything in the realm of link building and he’s seen it and can tell you if it’s worth the effort or not. He’s an experimenter and an early adopter. Third is that he’s well-connected. If he can’t answer a question for you, he has an incredible web of contacts that he can reach out to.

So why would a guy like Garrett come stand in a local Raleigh eatery and talk for an hour or so to a bunch of hack link builders? I think he has his own reasons, but I’m sure one of them is because he really likes what he does. He likes the nuts and bolts of link building. You can see him get excited as he talks about how to find links, how to evaluate them, how to reach them and how to get them to link to you.

What we say over and over at the SEO Meetup is, “get more links” and “get better links”. What usually gets asked over a beer at the end of the night is, “how do I get better links?”

If you are within 90 minutes of downtown Raleigh tomorrow night, you should be making time for this one. Nothing else is as important as understanding how to gain high quality inbound links for your website.
