For the past few weeks, I’ve been working with the awesome online team at the fresnobee.com website.
On Tuesday morning, about 6am PST, the site went live. One of the add on features that McClatchy newspapers is the Pluck SiteLife product. Pluck SiteLife allows visitors to comment on stories, rate and recommend stories, but, one of the lesser used features is all of the persona features.
One of the cool things it allows is personal blogs. Anyone who registers can start up a blog and publish on their site. So for example, I signed up at Fresno with a Small Business Blog.
If you really wanted to, you could do this at a number of sites, and cross publish your articles, and link back to your main site.
The amount of link juice that is passed is marginal because all of the Pluck code comes in via javascript, but you can build up a following by offering quality content.
Food for thought.
